Come and join me to make a handy cover for your sewing machine, which also doubles up as a sewing mat. You will learn how to create and use bias binding to finish this practical item. To learn this skill we will also create small yet practical samples. This skill will help with dressmaking too. This group is aimed at a beginners sewing level*.
This class runs for 6 weeks on the following dates: 15th June, 22nd June, 29th June, 6th and 13th of July, 20th June. 9.30-11.30 Monday mornings in Studio 7 at Coda Music & Arts Trust, Chewton Farm Road, Christchurch BH23 5QL
*It is not essential to have taken part in our previous classes, but some knowledge is required. This course is designed to suit people who have already mastered threading their machine, loading a bobbin and can sew a seam using straight stitch and reverse. We will not be teaching you how to use your machine in this course – if you need a refresher or are a complete novice please try our Ab-SEW-lute Beginners classes or our Get to Know your Sewing Machine. If you have some experience and want to join a class to sew sociably you are more than welcome to try this class.
The studio is very accessible with easy level access to the large carpark.
Ideally, you will bring your own machine, but if you do not have one, we can loan one to you for the session. You will need to notify us prior to the sessions.
The fabric and materials for the mat and a paper pattern, are all included in the price.
