Quilted Jacket Workshop 16th and 17th May 2026 10am-4pm
Workshop Schedule and Activities
Overview
Throughout the weekend, you will have the opportunity to craft a personalised quilted jacket using exquisite pre-quilted fabrics. The workshop will focus on creating bespoke jackets that feature practical pockets and carefully applied binding. You can decide whether the jacket will have ties at the front or a button fastening, allowing for individual expression and comfort.
Day One
The workshop will commence with a session dedicated to trying on sample jackets in various sizes and exploring a range of design details. This will help each of you to select the ideal size and preferred style of quilted jacket. Once you have decided, you will trace the appropriately sized pattern to use as the foundation of your garment.
The following stage involves cutting out the chosen fabric and preparing the necessary binding. After a relaxing lunch break, the focus will shift to assembling the jackets. Under the expert supervision of Sew Mrs Bee (Nancy), you will work through each step of the construction process, receiving hands-on guidance and support.
Day Two
Building on progress from the first day, you will continue to construct your jacket. Nancy will provide assistance and advice throughout each phase, ensuring that everyone is able to complete a well-made, tailored jacket by the end of the workshop.
Included in the Price
Those who select the Unlined All Materials Included option will be provided with all necessary materials for the workshop. This includes pre-quilted reversible fabric in a choice of colours, binding, and threads, ensuring that everything required to create a bespoke jacket is supplied. You will be contacted prior to the workshop to choose fabric colour and binding.
For those opting for the Lined All Materials Included option, we will supply all the materials but the quilted fabric will be limited to a denim colour only, and the lining (and binding) will be gingham in a choice of colours. You will be contacted prior to the workshop to choose fabric colour and binding.
For those opting for the reduced price, it will be necessary to bring your own pre-quilted fabric and binding. While a variety of threads will be available at the workshop, it is recommended that you also bring your own threads to ensure you have the perfect match for your project. You will be contacted prior to the workshop to confirm quantities that you need to bring with you.
Regardless of which pricing option is chosen, everyone will receive a paper pattern of the jacket to take home. This allows you to recreate your jacket again in the future, using your preferred fabrics and finishes.
Refreshments and Breaks
Despite a packed schedule, there will be plenty of opportunities to relax and recharge. Tea, coffee, and cake will be available, and lunch breaks are planned for each day. Weather permitting, lunch can be enjoyed outdoors, offering views over the meadow for a truly pleasant and inspiring environment.
Please Note: There will not be time to quilt fabric
